Trio Infernale? The inexorable convergence of Media, Tech and Data
Digital technology has turned business upside down, leaving markets more complex, chaotic and competitive than ever before. On the other hand, these disruptive technologies produce vast amounts of valuable information about performance of countless activities, across production, marketing, distribution and logistics. All the while, new innovations in IoT, AI and blockchain are creating new ways to gather information and turn it into insights. In a bid to survive, countless companies are embracing the promise of data by becoming early adopters of new data-focused sciences, strategies and tools to thrive in the chaos created by rapid technological advancement.
But can the insights of big data really give companies a competitive edge in our technologized world? Or will they come with financial, social and cultural risks that we simply aren’t prepared for? In this session, experts at the cutting-edge of digital media and big data will take a critical look at the intersections of their disciplines today in order to parse what these developments mean for the future of our industries.

An App a day keeps the doctor away – a better life with digital health?
Digital Health – what exactly does it mean? Nanobots in our blood vessels, transmitting micro doses of medicine whenever needed so we can live forever? Not really. It’s more about digitally generated visual aids that help physicians during the operation in real time. Virtual reality that can be used for pain treatment, trauma therapy and against anxiety disorder. Playful, interactive and comforting health games which inform young patients about a normal life with a rare disease. Already existing consumer devices that track pulse, sleep and performance and how they can be connected to medical professionals. It’s about data sets and data security at the same time. Digital Health is still in its early stages, but several players on the market already make use of it. Now we have to find humane ways and ethical guidelines to make them work for us.
