Katarina Holmberg, aka Tigerlight, is a music composer, producer, singer and voice over artist. Born in Finland raised as a Finnish-Swedish Brit via Berlin she graduated from Southampton University with a first-class degree in Music where she studied classical and jazz focusing on composition and performance. She releases dance music records both as a producer and vocalist under her alias Tigerlight. With this project she has performed as a DJ and singer across Europe and the USA and has had millions of online hits and radio play via labels such as 'Ministry of Sound’, ‘Universal’ and more. Alongside her dance productions she composes music for film and TV. She wrote the end credits theme for the award winning documentary ‘Return to Homs’ which was chosen to open the Amsterdam Documentary Film Festival and has gone on to win many festival awards including the ‘World Cinema Award’ at Sundance in the US where she was a featured ASCAP composer. She wrote full soundtracks for the documentaries: Kurdistan Dream or Reality and Generation Jihad shown initially on Arte, then aired worldwide. She runs the audio and midi sample and presets label Soul Rush Records distributed via Loopmasters. Her work in radio as a producer and host spans from hosting the Groove Magazine monthly chart show, writing sketches for and hosting on BBC1xtra and now hosting and producing the house and techno show for Beatport's podcast series. She is a dedicated vocal and music production geek.
